Research is a key function of any progressive institution of higher learning. Through research, knowledge is created and solutions are discovered. In addition to managing graduate programs and graduate research at the University, the School of Graduate Studies and Research plays a salient role in perpetuating research activity amongst the university’s faculty and staff. The school fulfills this role through provision of technical support to faculty and staff members with active research projects and organizing of research events such as colloquia, conferences, and meetings. These events enable value addition of presented works and provide networking forums which can establish the groundwork for collaboration in future research. The School of Graduate Studies and Research also acts as the liaison between KCA University and outside research entities through management of research collaborations and administration of research grants.
Management of the University’s Journals falls within the school’s docket too. At present, the School of Graduate Studies and Research manages and publishes the KCA Journal of Business Management (URL: http://www.kcajournals.com) and is continually evaluating the needs of the knowledge community in a bid to map areas on which it might establish new journals.
